General English Language

Introduction

This course has been specially designed for intermediate speakers of English who wish to improve their skills in English. All classes focus on the four main skills: writing, reading, listening and speaking. Students will learn how to use their grammar correctly and will be prepared for the IELTS examination which is the world's leading test of English for higher education. IELTS is widely recognised by universities and colleges in the UK and other English speaking countries as a standard entry qualification

The full course is 36 weeks in length and it includes 15 hours of classroom teaching each week from our experienced and qualified English teachers. Classes will take place from Monday to Friday during the mornings (09:30 to 12:30) and afternoons (13:00 to 16:00) .Classes are small and they are 100% student centred with teachers' prepared to help and guide the students throughout their stay. Teachers will provide a friendly atmosphere which makes classes fun which then leads to better learning. Students will develop all aspects of their written and spoken English and, in addition, will focus on tasks specifically designed to maximise their success in the IELTS examination.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the course, students must demonstrate that they already have a level of competence in English of at least Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Dear LSA Students

We have some very good news for you. . An established Highly Trusted Sponsor College (HTS) has fortunately agreed to take on our students. This is good news for you because:

1. You will apply to extend your stay to study further

2. You will not lose your current visa status

3. You will not have an interruption to your courses and academic success.

There are greater benefits to you of LSA’s restructuring and being under the sponsorship of the HTS College, for all serious students.

TO FIND OUT MORE, please attend our open day on Monday 15th October 2012 between 10 am 4 pm or at 10 a.m on Tuesday 16th October 2012 at Learning & Skills Academy Luton.

There will be a presentation from our HTS partners and a chance to get to know them and ask questions. We will spell out your options and the procedures at the presentations. However, please note that it is an urgent matter and the HTS College will only accept LSA students within perhaps a time frame of seven days.

Please be aware that students that do not meet the HTS and LSA’s compliancy conditions and do not sign up within the time given will have no choice but to:

1. Make a new Tier 4 application to another less reputable college, for a visa Extension.

2. Have maintenance funds in their bank account for 28 days of (£1,200) and new college fees +.

We hope you can see this as a better option to be with our partner HTS College than to have to go through with any less reputable college. So it is in your interests to attend this session organised for our serious students.
